Do Fairies Exist..

Do Fairies Exist..

As a Part of my articles on the PARANORMAL I thought why not this time tease the taste buds of our paranormal interests with “the most favorite muse of our unanswered world” .. that world which was our best friend when we were little… that muse which is the oldest fable in the world, that which is the very essence of innocence of a childs mind and that idea which keeps the adult mind reminded of the, lost innocence …I am talking about the famous FAIRIES ….

I grew up reading wonderful books by ENID BLYTON full of the wonderful world of fairies ,goblins and elves when I was a little girl and hence spent a convinced childhood of the fact that Yes… fairies exist . I do not know if it was the ENID BLYTONS or the beautiful crisp mountain air of the kumaon hills ,the wild buttercups which looked like little cups of gold, large toadstools which looked like little fairy houses, or the small rivulets that flowed over pebbles that looked like magic stones.. everything definitely felt like fairy land .Fairies have teased the imagination of the human mind since centuries. Each era boasting of a different definition….. and no matter what phase with each era mankind went through the fairies remained alive n kicking through the tunnel of time as they remain a deep, instinctive need of humanity.

I dedicate this piece to all the fairies who helped me , and filled my mind & life with a vibrant imagination and with mystical ecstasies …

So coming back to my beloved topic.. I know that most would like the following questions answered … What are Fairies ? …. Faerie : from the Latin term for “fate” (fata), faeries (or fairies) are a “host of supernatural beings and spirits who occupy a limbo between earth and heaven” (Guiley). This is in recognition of the skill faeries had in predicting and even controlling human destiny. Faeries could be either good or evil creatures, and at various points in history have been confused with witches and demons . However in English the word fairy derives from Middle English faierie (also fayerye, feirie, fairie), a direct borrowing from Old French faerie (Modern French féerie) meaning the land, realm, or characteristic activity (i.e. enchantment) of the legendary people of folklore and romance called (in Old French) faie or fee (Modern French fée).

The term fairy is also loosely applied to such beings as brownies, gnomes, elves, nixies, goblins, trolls, dwarfs, pixies, kobolds, banshees, sylphs, sprites, and undines.

When we think of the subject of fairies most of us automatically revert to the childhood stories, books, (and in today’s times even cartoons). How ever there is a growing trend amongst those in todays times who believe in fairies as real spiritual creatures .(Amazing isin’t it ??) that Many people are willing and even longing to believe in the existence of fairies. (PS- Me too).Is it because everything in this world seems to have a scientific explanation ? or is it because everyday man demeans himself with a newer version of his wickedness. Are we trying to find refuge with happy memories and fantasies of childhood or do we want to return to being the kindred spirits we once were ?…

Well.. whatever the reason as i said in my last article While we may think we know it all something new and thought provoking occurs as Socrates said “The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” ~

I have personally never experienced these delightful beings (except of course in my heart and imagination) but would like to pursue them and present them in reality so that maybe man can sometimes take delight in magic and be a part of a less materialistic world.I once read somewhere that once we see the world from the fairy point of view, we get a glimpse of a whole new universe.Fairies actually see the flow of life through all things…

Theosophists(students of natural law, of ancient and modern philosophy, and even of exact science).. claim that fairies can be observed when the third eye is activated. They say that these beings have never been previously incarnated as human beings; they are regarded as being on a separate line of spiritual evolution called the “deva evolution”; eventually, their souls advance as they reincarnate.Where as Rudolf Steiner actually speaks of fairies being elementals – supersensible beings connected with the elements of the earth .

It is believed that these (fairy) beings possess an etheric body((PS- An etheric body is first or lowest layer in the “human energy field” or aura. It is said to be in immediate contact with the physical body, to sustain it and connect it with “higher” bodies.) that are composed of etheric matter,( a type of matter finer and more pure that is composed of smaller particles than ordinary physical plane matter) so in more simpler language their bodies are less dense than ours, though only slightly less dense than a tenuous(very weak or slight) gas… Hence the reason why most people not see fairies.

As I found out and mentioned above ,a special sense must be awakened in people if they are to see fairies. This special sense or “activation of third eye” is called the power of clairvoyance ( ability to gain information about an object, person, location or physical event through means other than the known human senses).Pseudo-scientists claim that the ability of clairvoyance lies in the brain of humans, a tiny organ in the brain called the pituitary gland. Do not fret dear friends clairvoyance is an ability that can be cultivated and developed if you work hard enough at it.(PS- the good news is women are more likely to develop their psychic abilities then men because it comes more naturally to women and women are more likely to be more intuitive than men. One of the main reasons for this is that men are more intellectually oriented and tend more towards the rational side.).

So where did fairies come from? … One belief was that they were the dead, or some subclass of the dead. Some claim that they were “spirits of air” or intelligent species, distinct from humans and angels. However some beleive that they are race of diminutive people who had been driven into hiding by invading humans (origins from Celtic belief) and some on the other hand think them to be “Demoted angels”. I personally believe they are the hidden innocence of the human mind which have taken etheric bodies.

Maybe I am wrong, maybe the whole concept and idea of fairies was implanted into my imagination as a child by more modern fancies, books and stories.Dora van Gelder (a very famous researcher of Fairies and clairvoyant) .. ‘”If adults could but recapture the simplicity and directness of children even in some small degree, they too would recover the lost land of happiness that is the kingdom of the Little People, for the fairies would delight in becoming their simple friends, always to be depended upon, always kind.”.
….Well….I completely agree for only when mankind decides its return to innocence can it live “happily ever after”..So coming back to the title of my article Do fairies really exist? ….. well There is no conclusive answer to the fairies question. It is a matter of what you choose to believe, based on what you think you know or how you feel.Sometimes it is best to ignore all the evidences of the worldly wise and rely instead on faith.Hence the child within me would like to continue to believe in the belief which gave me nothing but happiness. …. the beloved world of FAIRIES …

Hand in hand, with fairy grace
Will we sing, and bless this place.

Hi Celina, nice introspective article on fairies.I hope you remember me.I met you in Bangalore when you came to inaugurate the Richfeel centre.I gave you a message just as you were about to leave and shared a little prayer to Jesus with you.
I beleive the supernatural world is very real.We can also call it the spirit world and it really influences our physical world. The material world really pales in comparision.
I would like to stay in touch with you and share more on the subject.
Lots of love.Looking forward to hearing fom you.Uday

    Dear Celina,
It was by pure coincidence (or fairy magic) that I came across your name whilst reading a newspaper article on queer India and the LGBT agenda.this was on my way back to London from a short break in beautiful India.

I loved reading your fairy write up!!!I have many fairies dotted around my home!although, rationally I can’t believe in fairies,I absolutely adore the idea of the existence of fairies and all positive mystical beings!!
My car is powered by fairy dust too!!(well,a couple of my friends put fairy stickers and lettering saying powered by fairy dust)they know me well.

I am glad to have come across you dear Celina

Lots of love, light and fairy sprinkles,
Joshna aka moonlight fairy! ( my name means moonlight)
